Welcome! Paradise Rattery is dedicated to raising happy, healthy, ratties as pets. We
focus on personality first, with carefully planned breedings, and lots of love to the little ones
before they go into their new homes. A lot goes into making the perfect little ratties for
other people to love, and there isn't any profit in it for me. I do it purely for the joy of
watching the little ones grow into individuals, and to spread the love of rats to everyone
around me. It takes a lot of time and effort to do what I do, but we all do crazy things for
what we love, right? Thanks for visiting my site, and as long as you leave here with rats on
your mind, then I've done my part!
Why Rats???Domestic rats are not the same as the dirty street
rats, or the rats in your barn, or the rats that carried the black plague. Rats
have been kept as pets for centuries, and are as different now from the wild
rat as dogs are from wolves. Many people hear the word rat and shudder.
They have not even given these animals a chance because ever since they
could remember, they have been raised thinking rats are dirty pests that
need to be eliminated. Domestic rats are just as affectionate as any cat or
dog, and are just as intelligent. They are very clean animals, and are easy to
care for. They are more responsive and interactive than guinea pigs and
hamsters, and can even learn to do tricks, come to their name, and can be
potty trained. They have personalities similar to dogs, and will play with
each other and establish ranking in the same way a dog would. Not only
are they like little dogs, but they can ride on your shoulder to anywhere,
they don't take up much space, travel easily, they are cheap and easy to
care for, don't require vaccines, and don't Bark! They're a great alternative
for apartments, condos, or anyone who can't have a dog. With all of these
wonderful qualities in such a convenient little package, WHY NOT A
RAT???

I do work full time so please be patient if you can't reach me right
away. Leave a message, and I will get back to you a.s.a.p.
Update: I am currently having to restart my rattery and records all over again due
to family events and happenings, forcing me to give up all that I had. This will be
a very daunting task, but one I consider worth it. It will be several more months
before I will be breeding any litters. As for now, I will still be taking in rescues,
and adopting them out to good people. I will update my site when I get going with
it again.
